A winter break for garden waste collections in Central Bedfordshire
Once again there will be a winter break for all kerbside collections of household garden waste across Central Bedfordshire.
The collections will be suspended for 12 weeks from Monday, 5 December 2022 until Friday, 24 February 2023 inclusive. Residents are encouraged to check their last collection date for their area, which will be either the week commencing Monday, 21 November or week commencing Monday, 28 November. The collections will resume on Monday, 27 February 2023 or Monday 6 March. All other waste collections will operate as normal.
Over the winter only very low volumes of garden waste are collected, and it is therefore not cost effective to provide the service during these months.
During the break, garden waste can still be recycled at the council’s four Household Waste Recycling Centres which are open seven days a week from 9am to 5pm, including bank holidays. For further detail, including the opening times over the Christmas and New Year period, please visit the council’s website: https://www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/tidytips.
Residents with enough space in their gardens are encouraged to home compost and can access tips and advice on the council’s website.
For more information about changes to your garden waste collection please visit: http://www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/garden-waste.
Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes Health and Care Partnership is developing a strategy for digital health and care services.
The use of technology and digital access to services was increased due to the Covid Pandemic and many of the ways people receive treatment or advice have changed and may have been supported by digital or remote services.
We would like to understand how residents feel about digital health and care services, what they think works well and what barriers there may be to residents being able to access services in this way.
We want as many people as possible to share their views and help shape services across Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes, so please complete the survey at https://eu.surveymonkey.com/r/BLMKDigital
The survey runs until Thursday 12 Jan 2023.
We are also holding in-person focus groups, to register your interest in joining a focus group, please call 01525 624261 or email blmkicb.communications@nhs.net . The focus groups will be held in community venues and we are offering £50 payment in recognition of time and expenses.
