Clophill Parish Council (CPC) is delighted to announce that the legal formalities have now been completed. The Greensand Trust are the official owners of the Lakes Nature Reserve, and Hayfield Homes are now able to build 50 new homes after officially completing the sale of the development plot from L&Q (formerly Gallagher Estates).
This is a fantastic conclusion for the village which has been made possible by the collaboration and support of Hayfield Homes and L&Q, The Greensand Trust, CBC, and The Parish Council.
Lastly, CPC would like to thank the individuals and groups who have invested significant time and effort over the years to achieve this outstanding outcome for the village. Particularly the Residents Group – CAUSE, whose members worked tirelessly to lobby Gallagher’s/L&Q and led a campaign which helped secure the Nature Reserve in return for just 50 new homes whilst helping to ensure The Greensand Trust became the rightful owner of the Lakes Park. Various Ward and Parish Councillors also deserve a special mention, particularly Cllr Grant Walford who has driven the matter via his collaboration and involvement with CBC, L&Q, Hayfield Homes, and CBC over the last few years.
