Townshott Allotment Site Lottery Grant
We are pleased to announce that we have been successfully awarded a National Lottery Grant of £8566 to install water to the Townshott allotment site.

We ask your help in trying to control the spread within the village, and along our water ways. It will out compete many of our wildflowers and plants, and choke the water ways.
Road Closures
A1 Biggleswade to Sandy: resumption of work
Update on the work we’re carrying out on the A1 around Sandy, between the Black Cat roundabout and Biggleswade North. This work includes safety barrier replacement, resurfacing, road marking and drainage renewal which will ensure the A1 remains in a safe and serviceable condition.
Work will be resuming on Monday 7 August for two weeks, working from 9pm to 5am on weeknights only. The A1 will be closed from the Biggleswade North roundabout to the Sandy roundabout in both directions.
The work will be from Monday 7 to Saturday 12 August. Traffic will be diverted onto the A507, A6, A421 and A603 to re-join the A1 at Sandy if heading northbound, or to follow this route in reverse when heading southbound.
The A1 will be closed from the Sandy roundabout to the Black Cat roundabout with the A421 in both directions. This work will be from Monday 14 to Thursday 17 August. Traffic will be diverted onto the A603 and A421 to re-join the A1 at the Black Cat roundabout if heading northbound, or to follow this route in reverse when heading southbound.
Ampthill to Maulden Bypass, Ampthill
Reason: Full Reconstruction of the Carriageway
Length affected: From Clophill Roundabout to Maulden/ Flitwick Rd Roundabout
Date: The closure will be in place for 24hrs a day from 18th August to 28th August
Diversion Route A6, A421, Marston Bypass, A507
Road: Ampthill to Maulden Bypass, Ampthill
Reason: Pre Surface Dressing/ Surface Dressing/ Lining Works
Length affected: From Clophill Roundabout to approx. 500m from Ampthill Rd/ Flitwick Rd Roundabout
Date: The closure will be in place from 0900-1530hrs from 14th TO 17th AUGUST
Diversion Route A6, A421, OLD A421, A507
Shefford Road, Clophill
Reason: Relocation of Gullies, installation of tactile pedestrian crossing and the replacement of road markings.
Length affected: From junction of Jaques Lane, to outside The Clophill Centre for Complimentary Therapies.
Date: The closure will be in place from 21st to 27th August 2023 this will be in place 24 hours.
Diversion Route Shefford Road, High Street, A507 left onto Shefford Road, and vice versa.
